GA Natural Gas Rates for February
(too old to reply)

This month's energy tip: Did you know David Crosthwait, an African
American engineer, designed the heating systems for the Rockefeller
Center and the Radio City Music Hall in New York City? Born in 1891 and
educated at Purdue University, Crosthwait earned 39 US patents for
heating systems, temperature regulating devices, and refrigeration
methods.

If you have an annual contract for natural gas and you don't check the
rates when you're eligible to switch, you could end up with a variable
rate that empties your pocket each month. Marketers quote only the gas
rates, but your bill includes customer service fees and other charges
that add up. Be sure to compare annual "Apples-to-Apples" rates, which
include everything but taxes.

As published by the PSC, here are the "Apples-to-Apples" rates (with
typical February bills) offered by Georgia marketers for annual
contracts signed this month:

1) Coweta-Fayette EMC (877-RINGEMC): $1.31/therm or $192.84
2) GasKey (877-GAS-1KEY): $1.33/therm or $195.16
3) Georgia Natural Gas (877-850-6200): $1.31/therm or $190.56
4) Infinite Energy (877-342-5434): $1.37/therm or $201.80
5) Scana Energy (877-GO-SCANA): $1.34/therm or $198.28
6) Shell Energy (877-67-SHELL): $1.34/therm or $196.82
7) Southern Company Gas (866-SOCO-GAS): $1.34/therm or $197.82
8) Vectren Source (866-200-5693): $1.33/therm or $196.49
9) Walton EMC (866-WEMCGAS): $1.28/therm or $188.32
[See
http://www.psc.state.ga.us/gas/marketerpricing/2005/Feb05/feb05gmpl.asp
for more info.]

To choose a new marketer, call them at the number above and sign up for
a one-year fixed rate. They will order Atlanta Gas Light to transfer
your account, and you will be switched to your new marketer on the 1st
of next month if you call by the 19th.

You qualify. For now, I think.

People are making the world kinda hectic lately.

Perhaps this is part of the drama, I just like the rate updates.
-Reminder- WE pay the psc to run the rates... Nice of someone to let us
know the figures. I hear Purdue and Bush are doing their best to hide
every damn thing they do by making laws. Would you like to see some of
them?

Because, I find it fun to go there.

Thanks for asking, Paw-Paw. Everyone is welcome to join our energy

communities, since a piece of your utility bill goes to nonprofits
